Kolja is a classical trained (Foundation in Opera, writing and directing), awarded writer and theatre director.
Britishtheatre.com says about Mary Stuart (Queen of Scots) "This is a new work to watch with great attention". And Rabatt credited his show Songbook: Bryan Adams as "A whole new and amazing entertainment concept".
The Westphalian Observer proclaimed his directing "Impressive!", whilst WD Radio attests him having "An incredible sense of space".
Kolja has worked for fifteen years within the professional theatre industry, with companies such as Stage Entertainment, National Thalia Theatre Hamburg, National Theatre Nürnberg, National Theatre Bochum, The Hippodrome London, and The Other Palace London just to name a few.
Currently he is very much into direct New Writing (plays and musicals), and he is passionate about connecting classical language with contemporary theatre.
Furthermore Kolja has directed various high end productions including Classical Texts, Physical Theatre, Multimedia Shows, Concerts, Musicals, Site Specific, Galas and Opera. He has worked mainly in the UK, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Sweden and travelled worldwide with his theatre productions.
Originally he was born and raised between Germany and Sweden, growing up in “the land of the poets“ and “the land of the midnight sun“. Speaking German, Swedish and English he often draws upon his cultural experiences in his work.
He trained at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, Shakespeare‘s Globe, TUK/ DISC, University of Music & Theatre Hamburg, and School of Music Dortmund.
Kolja is a member of The Musical Theatre Society Germany, The Artists Social Fund Germany, Cultural Management Network Germany, National Theatre Society Sweden, and the Young Directors Network at the Young Vic London/ UK.
Kolja is a co-founder of Transparence Theatre, the worlds first transgender dance ensemble, for which he currently develops a new artistic theatre concept supporting transgender artists on stage
